is a project of celebration and education around the groundbreaking French artist Jean Cocteau (1889—1963), his friends, and the Severin Wunderman Collection.

It is the brainchild of Chloë Cassens — Wunderman’s grand-daughter and a life-long scholar of Cocteau.

SACRED MONSTER is published on a biweekly basis. On the 1st of each month, you’ll receive an essay centered around the works of Jean Cocteau; on the 15th, an essay about a related cultural moment of Chloë’s choosing.

For more, you can follow her on instagram; visit chloecassens.com; or send her a message at bonjour@chloecassens.com.

Access to SACRED MONSTER is available on a paid basis; $10/month or $100/year. There is a SACRED ACADEMIC discount for those with .edu emails.
